BotFather: what it is and what it does on Telegram
BotFather is Telegram’s official bot for creating and managing other bots. You chat with it like any other account, at @BotFather, and everything runs through commands.
What it does
The /newbot command asks for a name and a username, then hands you the token, the key that authorizes your bot to use the Bot API. Anyone with the token controls the bot, so treat it like a password.
After creation, BotFather also handles the profile and settings. Telegram’s documentation lists these, among others:
/setname: changes the name./setdescriptionand/setabouttext: profile text./setuserpic: profile picture./setcommands: the bot’s command list./token: generates a new token if the current one leaked./mybots: an interface for editing your bots./deletebot: deletes the bot and frees its username.
What it doesn’t do
BotFather registers the bot, but it doesn’t give it anything to say. A freshly created bot stays silent until something processes its messages: your own code or a tool.
In Flow4You, you paste the token under “Add New Bot” (“Adicionar Novo Bot”) and build the conversation as a flow. The full walkthrough, from /newbot to your first live flow, is in how to create a Telegram bot.
